Dwayne Johnson is nearly unrecognizable in the first look at his upcoming A24 drama, "The Smashing Machine."
Johnson plays MMA legend Mark Kerr in the film, which explores the life and career of the wrestler and mixed martial artist.
The first image from "The Smashing Machine" shows Johnson with a shaved head and a bloody face, a far cry from his usual clean-cut appearance.
Kerr was a dominant force in MMA in the 1990s, winning the UFC Heavyweight Championship twice. However, he struggled with addiction and personal demons throughout his career.
The Smashing Machine is directed by Ben Safdie and is set to be released in 2023.
