Labour plan to make UK green growth superpower

Sir Keir Starmer has said a Labour government would invest £28 billion in a new publicly-owned energy company, Great British Energy, to help the UK become a green growth superpower.

The company would invest in wind and solar projects, and would be funded through a combination of public and private investment. It would be headquartered in Scotland, which has abundant renewable energy resources.

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has pledged that green energy projects would be kickstarted across the country, as he unveiled plans to create a publicly-owned company called Great British Energy.

The company would be based in Scotland and would invest in wind and solar projects, helping the UK to become a green growth superpower.

Starmer said: "We will make the UK a green growth superpower. We will invest in renewable energy, create new jobs, and cut bills.

"Great British Energy will be a key part of our plan to build a fairer, greener, more prosperous future for our country."
